Não comove com sua dor
Então, ao céu ele implora
Sertanejo tem grande temor

Ele roga à Deus e chora
Confia na providência
Que chega na última hora
Premiando a sua paciência

Coragem que se expande
O sertanejo tem grande alma
Igualmente ao Mestre Gandhi
Cuja virtude é a calma

Terra de Cartuxo Cordelista
Um povo extraordinário
O sertanejo já nasce artista
O sertão é o seu cenário!
