DAMA DO MAR

Navegando pelo mar
Uma ilha fui encontrar,
Envolta em bruma,
Dela me aproximei,
Para poder descansar.

Mas eis que ao atracar
Meu olhar foi de encontro,
De uma dama de encanto:
A dama do mar.

Atrás dela ir tentei
Mas tinha desaparecido,
Por entre os pescadores procurei
Por seu legado.

Disseram-me que a dama
Era nobre e moça,
Mas a sua chama
Andava pobre.

Depois de conselhos ouvir,
A sua casa resolvi dirigir,
Para em namoro
A sua mão pedir.

Com alguma exactidão,
Lá veio a condenação,
Resolveu permitir
Que tocasse nos lábios se cordão.
