O branco véu que repousa, por sobre tua face pálida,
Encobre teus olhos mortos, tão tristonhos...
Nas mãos as flores vão murchas, desfolhadas,
E caem no chão, como caem os pomos...

Chuva!...E garoa!...E mais chuva ainda, o ano inteiro,
Deixa-me enfurnado assim, na solidão!
Vão-se me os sonhos amputados em devaneios,
Como cravos engastados num caixão!

As flores vão assim perfumando, do ataúde as salas!
E inebriadas em tão inefáveis tristezas,
encobrem teu corpo em vaporosas mortalhas!

Deitada entre delicadas flores, pareces destarte dormir...
E como a mais bela da mais bela das princesas!
No meu coração, hás de repousar, eternamente assim...
