A Joven Miss
Ella é tão loura, lyrica, franzina,
Tão mimosa, quieta, e virginal,
Como uma bella virgem d'um missal
Toda dourada, e preciosa e fina!
Não ha graça mais casta e femenina
Do que a d'ella! Seu riso angelical
Cria em nós todo um mundo de moral,
Melhor que tudo o que Platão ensina!
Por isso; e pela sua castidade,
Deve ser goso intenso, na verdade,
Sentir fundir-se em nós seus olhos regios!..
E o goso de a beijar trémula, amante,
Deve ser quasi extranho! - e semelhante
Ao de fazer terriveis sacrilegios.
