Train of Thought

When I board the express,
Lao Tsu punches my ticket
Jesus, Krishna, and Buddha,
are sitting, playing cards.

“Poker?” I ask
Lao Tsu answers,
“No! It is the game that can not
be named it is the eternal game”
“What?”
“The nameless is the beginning
of heaven and earth.”

“God,” Jesus chimes in,
“We’re playing God.”

“And who is God?” I ask.
“I Am” the three reply in unison.
Moses and Mohammed are watching.
“And what about you?” I ask.

“We don’t gamble.” they answer.
They were only conductors,
so I ask “Who is the engineer?
Who is driving this train?”

“You are,” is their reply.
“Where am I going?”
“The tracks are laid,
follow the signals.”

I get off the train
I’m in no hurry
so I think I’ll walk.
