Da vida - a chama em mim -, não mais existe,

Palidez sombria que nunca viste!
Definho assim como finda a tarde...

Que não o ouves, bem o sei...
Que as lágrimas consumidas nesse pranto,

A penumbra do quarto na solidão mergulha...
E nas trevas em que imerge meu sofrer,
Já a morte meus lábios procura!

Vou te beijar!...E olhar através dos olhos dela!
E ainda num último suspiro, vou dizer!
