Sobre a planta:
Amorphophallus titanum, ou a titan arum, foi descoberto pelo botânico italiano Odoardo Beccari em 1878 na ilha de Sumatra, na Indonésia. A amostra foi enviada para o Royal Botanical Gardens, na Inglaterra, onde a planta foi exibido e floresceu pela primeira vez em cultivo em 1889.
