Os teus prisioneiros,
Cupido, os que devem
Saber definir-te,
Que mal te descrevem !

És aspide (affirmam)
Cuberto de flôres,
Sedento d'estragos,
Amigo de horrores:

Sustentam carpindo
Que os féres, e enlêas
Com aureos virotes,
Com ferreas cadêas:

Enganam-se, oh nume!
Teus laços, teus tiros
São longas madeixas,
São ternos suspiros.
