NEM DESISTO... NEM CAIO!
Sou folha colorida... num Outono frio,
oscilando num ramo onde já fui vida.
Permaneço ocupante de um espaço vazio
recusando tornar-me uma folha caída.
O meu balançar é balanço morto.
Perdi toda a força que a vida me deu.
Meu pecíolo preso àquele ramo torto
ameaça soltar-se desde que nasceu.
Contudo, acusando um carácter teimoso
no espaço vazio que agora é ventoso,
oscilo agarrando-me aquilo que eu amo.
Vai longe a beleza que tem cada Maio.
Mantenho-me assim... nem desisto, nem caio...
e enquanto suspensa, meus versos declamo.
