A gloria d'este animal.

Deuses, que lá n'essa altura,
Que lá n'essa immensidade
Onde tudo é claridade,
Onde tudo é formosura,
Gosaes suprema ventura,
A' eternidade egual;
Quando a vista divinal
Vós lançaes ao mundo tosco,
Vereis hombrêa comvosco
«A gloria d'este animal.»
