Trying To Define Love

While I looked for the meaning of love elsewhere,
meaning was right in my face,
I didn’t know such lovely thoughts,
could exist to live limitless
It carried over from a Neanderthal time
How does a soul love im-measurable;
keeping the want in the heart,
never owning the loved soul

The wick in heart lit never given fire
That undiminished love turned into a lighthouse,
waiting patiently for an arriving ship,
it was a beacon of memories,
never released inside,
without opportunity

Will it stay lit near the contrary soul,
once loved limitless and waited upon,
the soul that never understood how to love
