Quem fez ao sapo o leito carmesim
De rosas desfolhadas à noitinha?
E quem vestiu de monja a andorinha,
E perfumou as sombras do jardim?
Quem cinzelou estrelas no jasmim?
Quem deu esses cabelos de rainha
Ao girassol? Quem fez o mar? E a minha
Alma a sangrar? Quem me criou a mim?
Quem fez os homens e deu vida aos lobos?
Santa Teresa em místicos arroubos?
Os monstros? E os profetas? E o luar?
Quem nos deu asas para andar de rastros?
Quem nos deu olhos para ver os astros
- Sem nos dar braços para os alcançar?!...
