Ó vento que sopra forte e quente!
Que sopra imperioso a céu aberto!
Vais-te todo vivo!...E tão silente!
E enlevando em mágoas o deserto...

De areia!...Fustiga a tempestade!
E fustiga a alma do deserto à vida!
E sopra violento, em finda tarde!
Em findo tempo, à sede padecida...

De amarela areia se estende o mar!
E o vento, tamanha dor levando,
Bem todo o Saara arrebata ao luar...

E sopra a tempestade; vento forte!
E vai, toda amargura soprando,
Assim como quem sopra a sorte...

tempestades de areia e poeira,
