Pezinhos de criança
azulados de frio
Como os veem e não os cobrem,
Deus meu!

Pezinhos feridos
pelas pedras todas,
ultrajados de neves
e lodos!

O homem cego ignora
que por onde passais,
uma flor de luz viva
deixais;

Que ali, onde colocais
a plantinha sangrante,
o nardo nasce mais
perfumado.

Sede, posto que marchais
pelos caminhos retos,
heroicos como sois
perfeitos.

Pezinhos de criança,
duas joinhas sofridas,
como passam sem ver
as pessoas!
