A dor atormenta o homem como vício...
Tantos choram, tantos se afirmam em cilício...
Põem-se voluntariamente na embriaguez da tristeza!
Fealdade! É o ópio do ego: a autopiedade!
Negam-se a verdade do conforto em que se comprazem!
Sentem-se, não filhos, mas o aborto seco da estiagem
Como se Deus os tivesse concebido somente para a dor!
Como se a dor fosse-lhes o legado irônico do Amor...
Irônica auto-comiseração! Vaidade deformada...
Por ironia, real ironia, quem sofre não se esvai em dor...
Sofre apenas, dentro de si, qual flor seca, já sem odor...
