Glória, alguém a vira

Ali, onde se ergue o bastão

Lágrima, ali, alguém tira

Onde o suor cozinha o pão

Tomai do Mundo, um pouco do castigo

Para não vos dar tudo a que me abrigo

 

Viçosas; alguém as conquista

Alguém lhe arranca a força do mal

Oh, força velha, que foste mendiga

Olha aqui, te fizeram Portugal

Que carregou no dorso fúria de mar

Para fincar nos lábios águas por secar.
