John Smith(Alex Pettyfer) é um jovem extraordinário,

que esconde a sua verdadeira identidade fazendo passar-se

por um típico estudante para enganar um inimigo mortal que quer destruí-lo.

Alterando a sua identidade numa pequena cidade de Ohio, junto com o seu tutor Henri (Timothy Olyphant),

John tem encontros inesperados e encontra o seu primeiro amor, Sarah (Dianna Agron).

Três como ele, o inimigo já matou.
