A Four-story Drop

Fresh paint
spilt on
the portfolio.

Red and black
paw-prints
dance across
the carpet.

Curtains blow
from an open
window.

Sandra weeps,
a suffering
artist, sobbing,

“The cat, the cat
is gone!”

It wasn’t curiosity.
