Invejar provoca um esforço
que incha as veias da fronte.
A mão que se estende naturalmente
dá e recebe com a mesma facilidade.
Mas a mão que agarra com avidez
rapidamente endurece.
Ah! que delicioso é dar!
Ser generoso que bela tentação!
Uma boa palavra brota suavemente
como um suspiro de felicidade!
Bertolt Brecht (1898–1956) foi um influente dramaturgo, poeta e encenador alemão do século XX.
