UMA CANÇÃO PARA UMA AMIGA

Uma canção para uma amiga,
antiga cantiga
de terras lusitanas vinda
calou-se hoje.
Não haverá mais versos finos,
rimas em linguagem culta
porque a inspiração
a morte tratou de exilar.
Ah, esta cantiga antiga!
Fados da Alfama vazia
onde na madrugada fria,
ouve-se o lamento de Amália;
os versos picantes do Bocage,
os suspiros de Camões,
ardendo em fogo que não se vê,
caminhando sobre as brasas dos Lusíadas.
O choro das guitarras tão perto
faz-me pensar, por certo,
a vida é um céu encoberto
o sol está do outro lado
aquecendo o musgo do chão
para ela pisar etérea
envolta em véus de amores
deixados do lado de cá.
Ah, minha amiga!
Hoje tu és uma pérola de vida
porque na praia da eternidade
encontraste a concha perdida.
