Levaram as grades da varanda
Por onde a casa se avistava.
As grades de prata.
Levaram a sombra dos limoeiros
Por onde rodavam arcos de música
E formigas ruivas.
Levaram a casa de telhado verde
Com suas grutas de conchas
E vidraças de flores foscas.
Levaram a dama e o seu velho piano
Que tocava, tocava, tocava
A pálida sonata.
Levaram as pálpebras dos antigos sonhos,
Deixaram somente a memória
E as lágrimas de agora.
