Ana Martins, mulher, esposa e mãe, autodidacta, Ribatejana, natural de Santarém, Filha de pai militar e a mãe doméstica, passou a infância entre África e Portugal, o que lhe permitiu o contacto e uma perspectiva de diferentes culturas, enriquecendo assim o sentido humanista, característico na sua personalidade.
Desde muito jovem começou a sentir afeição pela escrita, escrevendo o seu diário que enriquecia dando os primeiros passos na poesia.
