Your Blue Book
Your Blue Book
It's the cross around my neck
it's the stars that I've counted
the painful pages of your diary, crying out to me
I've made a promise with a cut that just won't heal
I hurt you in a way that has no reaction
the pain is way too real
the pages burn inside your blue book
yet once you leave there is no turning back
faces change in the reaction of a metal spark
turning pages like different stages
wishing for a way to bleed
like I once said
the mystery of you is hard to conceal
yet the pain is way too real
counting seconds second hand
breaking the plane of conversation
tracing the steps leading to observation
the stars light up a darkened sky
look with your brand new eyes
yet the piano plays
a song we dance to
memories last only for a lifetime
the reaction is smothered and the innocence has left
like a countless reaction of time that we've kept
once you leave
there is no turning back
