As minhas raízes

Tenho necessidade e plena razão,
De puxar pelo meu botão,
De amar com o coração,
De gritar e dizer não!

Vivo no cume do monte,
A meu lado fresca fonte,
Perdido nestes infindáveis horizontes,
Sou do Douro, de Trás-os – Montes.

Vinhedos e dispersos olivais,
Sobreiros e outros matagais.
Singela e sempre nobre simpatia,
Luz bendita do meio-dia.
