Bagé Rainha da fronteira
Do mundo o melhor lugar
Aqui nasci e vou ficar
Vivo ou de qualquer maneira
Não tenho medo do escuro
Nem daquilo que está por vir
Daqui não pretendo sair
Seja qual for o meu futuro

O meu mundo é esta cidade
Outro lugar não me convence
Não brinco de ser bageense
Sou bageense de verdade
Na Matriz que ao cristão conduz
Nasceu meu berço de agora
E se todos forem embora
Eu fico e não apago a luz

Aqui é o meu porto seguro
E até as pedras me conhecem
Quando as sombras da noite descem
Eu vejo o dia no escuro
Se alguma coisa me importuna
Minha família é o meu abrigo
Família e a mão de um amigo
É pra mim a maior fortuna

Se me deixarem sitiado
Como os pica-paus na trincheira
Fico aqui de qualquer maneira
Pois também não sou assustado
E para te fazer agrado
Enquanto eu viver, te festejo
E em singelas linhas versejo
Pra ti Bagé meu chão sagrado.
