Se Lisboa fosse assim
o teu olhar atravessado no meu
uma ave que sobe ao fado
como a alma sobe a Deus.
Se Lisboa fosse ausente
desta dor que eu não sei
e fosse a forma da gente
no modo como cantei.
Havia de tentar
com a voz mais forte e dorida
chorar ás águas do rio
o vazio da minha vida.
Chorar num modo cantado
assim talvez imperfeito
neste modo de fado
que é o silencio no peito.
Se Lisboa fosse assim
